Hungry for Change Gala 2014

The 2014 Hungry for Change Gala is a semi-formal dinner that illustrates inequality throughout the world. This year’s theme is Right to Play, the importance of recreational programs for underserviced communities and third world countries. The evening will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Robert Stein, on this subject. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for a cocktail hour with a cash bar and live music. Dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Throughout the evening there will be a silent auction and a photo auction. (Payment by cash or cheque for auction items is greatly appreciated). Tickets are:
Please purchase your tickets by Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Where are the proceeds going? Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the Global Health Funding Committee, which funds scholarships that help medicals students who go to resource-poor regions for clinical electives. The gala also hopes to generate awareness and support for Ghana Medical Help, a non-profit that gives medical supplies to hospitals in Ghana. Proceeds of our silent auction and photo auction go to Right to Play, whose mission is to use sport and play to educate and empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict, and disease in disadvantaged communities. What is Hungry for Change? Hungry for Change is a club run by medical students at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western. The club's goal is to prepare medical students for ethically responsible decision making during clinical electives and summer experiences. Learn more |
