Ignatieff

Western Law is 50! This spring marks the beginning of a year long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the law school.  We will begin our celebrations with our annual Law Alumni Dinner in London.  All Western alumni and friends as well as members of the community are invited to attend.

We are pleased to welcome the Honourable Michael Ignatieff, Leader of the Official Opposition, as the guest speaker at this year's dinner.  The evening will also honour Mr. Doug Ferguson, LLB '81, Director of Community Legal Services at Western and President of the Liberal Party of Canada, with the Western Law Alumni of Distinction Award.

Michael Ignatieff was elected as a Member of Parliament for Etobicoke-Lakeshore in 2006, re-elected in 2008, and currently serves as the Leader of the Official Opposition and Interim Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. An accomplished author, scholar and journalist, he is one of Canada's leading voices on the world stage in the field of human rights, democracy and international affairs. His most recent book "True Patriot Love: Four Generations in Search of Canada" will be published on April 28.

Tickets are $185.00 per person or $1850 for a table of ten in advance and include cocktails, hors d'ouevres, dinner and wine. Sorry, no refunds.

Please register by Monday, April 13, 2009 by calling 519-661-2111 extension 85056 or extension 88254
